Who invented the vacuum cleaner?

Like a lot of inventions over the years the invention of the vacuum cleaner is also surrounded with great debate as to who came up with the first vacuum cleaner. We have to go as far back as the 1800′s to try and understand what people had in their homes and how they went about cleaning.

Firstly we can trace one of the earliest and better known devices back to 1860 when David Hess came up with a way to solve a problem which housewives were having at the time. In those days people used rugs on the bare wooden floors to try and keep the dust down to a minimum. Of course all the dust remained on the rug and the only way off was to hang the rug and whack it with a stick. Shortly after came the rug-beater, which resembled a tennis racket.

However, it was only David Hess who thought there must be an easier way to do the rug cleaning and he came up with a Carpet Sweeper which had a rotating brush with a bellows system which provided the suction. Is or was this a ‘vacuum cleaner’? The machine also consisted of two water chambers which collected the fine dust and particles. The only problem with this invention is that there is no proof it was ever produced.

Then along came Melville Bissell, who’s surname will sound familiar if you know your vacuum cleaners, who also came up with a carpet sweeper that picked up dirt and deposited it in a pan behind the sweeper head.

But it wasn’t until 1899, when what can be described as the first ‘motorized’ cleaner, was invented by John Thurman and it was another few years before Hubert Booth of London came up with the first electric vacuum. The only problem was that the vacuum was so big it was stored on the back of a
trailer outside the house and a very long hose was run inside to do the cleaning.

As time went by more and more inventors had a go at coming up with the ultimate cleaner and one which could be used in the home without much fuss and was portable. Then along came James Spangler in 1908 with the first portable suction cleaner. This cleaner proved to be extremely popular and
for some reason he sold the patent to William Hoover. Yes, the man who’s name has become synonymous with house cleaning. The fact that the Hoover name stuck was a testament to how good and popular the early cleaners were and now nearly 100 years later the vacuum cleaner can still be best
described a clunky, noisy piece of hardware. Although innovative designs such as the Dyson and the next generation robotic Roomba are starting to give us some idea of what we can expect of 21st century vacuum cleaners.

Whoever is responsible for the invention of the vacuum cleaner, of which I believe there are many, would be proud to know that the principles of their early day designs still remain in vacuumcleaners in millions of homes around the world.

Big Brother 7 – Half Term Report Part Two

Big Brother is entering the half-way stage so here is a short round-up of five of the remaining nine established characters and how they fair in the betting market.

Aisleyne
Current Odds: 20/1

Aisleyne was voted into the house next door but will return to the main compound which will shock the other housemates as they thought they had got rid of her and her constant singing of hip hop songs that nobody has heard of. Aisleyne is the strongest female character but her fake ghetto speak and snapping at the other housemates will see her up for eviction more often than not. The House Next Door twist will see Aisleyne vote out four of the five new housemates, although they will actually be moved into the main house and face her when she returns herself. There could be a tricky few weeks in store for the promotions girl and aspiring pop star.

Imogen
Current Odds: 50/1

Imogen has been a disappointment and her character in the house is just a female version of Mikey. Dull, boring and nothing like the real-life serial footballer dater the tabloids would have us believe. Until recently, the only screen time she enjoyed was when she had tedious conversations in Welsh with fellow compatriot Glyn. For someone proud to be university educated, Imogen didnt know what malice meant nor saboteur before she was chosen to wreck the milk task in order for the housemates to win a luxury food budget. She passed the task, although all that was required was to let milk pour out of a giant vat without any of the other housemates noticing what she was up to. Yawn.

Richard
Current Odds: 66/1

The self-proclaimed sexual terrorist is another dullard who thinks he has a chance of winning. Since arguing with Imogen several weeks ago he has done very little since which unfortunately also seen his nominations by other housemates cease. Come on people, vote him out!

Susie
Current Odds: 80/1

Boring. Boring. Boring. Big Brother made a huge fuss about their Golden Ticket campaign in which a lucky member of the public would get the chance to enter the house. Instead, Susie, an ageing glamour model who had applied for Big Brother several times in the past was apparently chosen at random to join the rest of the housemates. Susie has found a role in the house as surrogate mother to little Nikki and lust object for granny fancier Glyn. Oh yes and she likes to drink tea. Lots and lots of tea.

Lea
Current Odds: 80/1

Surgically enhanced Lea has found life difficult in the house thus far and is now giving Nikki a run for her money on who can shed the most tears. Lea has the hots for Pete, although she denies it and has found herself a prime target for Aisleyne who established herself as the alpha female of the house. Leas almost unhealthy interest in Pete and constant crying will see her fellow housemates put her up for eviction soon. And not before time, either.

Italian Translation Into English – Days & Months

I have an ongoing interest in Italian English translation and Italian life in general. I hope this article Italian Translation into English – Days & Months’ will help those trying to learn the Italian language. If these articles prove of interest then I will continue writing a whole series on these subjects.

Italian / English Translation of the Months of the Year
gennaio January
febbraio February
marzo March
aprile April
maggio
May
giugno June
luglio July
agosto August
settembre September
ottobre October
novembre November
dicembre December

Unlike the English translation, in Italian the names for days of the week are not capitalised.

Here is an Italian English Translation of some other useful phrases;
Che mese ? – What month is it?
In che mese siamo? – What month are we in?
dicembre – Its December
Siamo in dicembre – We are in December

Italian / English Translation of the Days of the Week
luned Monday
marted Tuesday
mercoled Wednesday
gioved Thursday
venerd Friday
sabato Saturday
domenica Sunday

Again, unlike the English translation, in Italian the names for days of the week are not capitalised. So the translation is not only the letters but also the capitalisation.

Here is an Italian Translation of some other useful phrases;
oggi – today
domani – tomorrow
Oggi marted – Today is Tuesday
Domani giovedi – Tomorrow is Thursday

For me there is another side to this translation. Mondays in England v Mondays in Italy.
Generally an English Monday is rainy and depressing. But lets translate that to an Italian Monday. Sure you still have the daily commute. But it’s much more likely to be a sunny day (even in winter). So even though you might wish you were still at the beach or skiing down a mountain, you feel much more happy. Especially as you stop for a coffee and take the time to talk Italian with strangers before starting work.

Avoiding ‘Make Money Fast’ Schemes

We live in a world where the internet is one of the most important tools for communication and business. The convenience the internet offers is vast.

About a decade ago, online businesses boomed and since then many people who wanted to make some extra buck turned to the internet. Some are legitimate businesses who sell products and skills and some are fraud sites that steal and harass people.

An example of these fraud schemes is the Make Money Fast or MMS schemes. This scheme is very much like chain letters forwarded to people. Make money fast will often claim that it is legal and promises vast sums of money in a short period. It will promise you with too good to be true investment opportunities.

People, especially those who are unlucky are easily deceived into joining this kind of frauds. So why do people believe such things? The only explanation is that they think these schemes are true and that they can afford it.

People tend to think what do I have to lose? and another thing is, almost everyone would love to make easy money.

Make money fast schemes usually come in the form of an email. The contents of the letter states that you should send money to some or all the names on the list then include your own name and send the email to other people.

Here are some basic contents in Make Money Fast emails:
It will usually start with a greeting from the person who created the letter.

This scheme will include some testimonials from investors that will say that it made them a millionaire or made their life easier.

It will include a list of names and addresses.

It will state that you have to send a specified amount of money (usually a small amount of money) to some or all the people on the list.

It instructs you to forward the email to as many people as possible and modify the list of names by placing your own name and address at the bottom and removing one at the top.

It will usually claim that it is legal and will promise you a return on your investment.

There are several variations of this scheme. One common type is that it will instruct you to send money to people as payment for reports.

It will always claim that it is legal and some will include section of the law to confirm the legality, when in fact the very same law will state that it is illegal.

There are also websites that offer these schemes, and often it will look very attractive and legitimate to lure people in investing. It will display pictures of people smiling and will include testimonials. Keep in mind that these are just photos which can be purchased for cents at various graphic sites and also be aware that anyone can make testimonials.

Although some of these websites are legitimate and offer true business opportunities, most are fraudulent. Before you invest, here are some tips on how to distinguish fraudulent sites from legitimate ones.

Fraudulent sites will often offer investment return and big profits that sound too good to be true. An example is that some will offer to convert your $20.00 investment into $50,000.00 in a matter of days and some even millions.

Find out if there is at least a reliable contact address on the website. If it is legitimate, it will include a legitimate phone number and address of the person. Call the phone number and wait for someone to answer to find out if it is in fact legitimate.

Research the website on internet forums to find out if it is a legitimate website or blacklisted. You can also find out if the forums you visited and the website are fraudulent by tracking the IP address. If the IP addresses are the same then it is fraud.

Keep in mind that not all offers on the internet are true. Save yourself from frustration and losing money, and always research before investing in any kind of businesses!

Dental Plans: How To Choose The Best Dental Insurance For You

You understand that you need dental insurance. After all, it is an essential part of life, no different than any other medical coverage. And, despite the fact that you hate going to the dentist, you know that, one day, you may need more than a simple check-up. If an extensive amount of work is done, you need to find yourself covered. So, you need the right plan to suit your lifestyle. Often, businesses will cover dental insurance and offer plans to their employees. This is how the majority pays for their dental work so,
below, we will explain the must common plans used to give you an idea of where to start:

One: direct reimbursement plan. The most favored plan, this lets employees be reimbursed for any money they spend on dental care. If you have anything from a check-up to an operation, you will pay for it, and then your employers will give the money back. This makes it a simple process, hence its popularity. Not all companies can afford to do this, however. Small businesses may not be able to match larger bills.

Two: indemnity plan. Smaller businesses are more likely to use this plan. With it, they will pay one hundred percent of cleanings amount, eighty percent for basic work like getting a cap and fifty percent for surgical procedures. The employee will then pay the rest. While some find this an unfair plan, smaller companies can not afford to pay one percent of every visit. They just do not have the funding.Still, unless a major procedure is being done, the employee will have to pay very little.

Three: managed care plan. This is often the most common, though not always the most favored plan. For businesses with little money to spend on dental insurance, this plan will suffice. Employees pay a co-payment. This, in turn, helps pay for procedures. The more involved the procedure, the higher the co-payment. This allows employers to pay for only some of the bill. Of course, this plan is not popular with most employees as they may end up paying the majority, but it must be understood that, for smaller businesses, dental insurance is more luxury than necessity.

These three plans are the most common found in the work place, and you will–in all likelihood–deal with them. If you have the fortune to work in a larger business, expect the first plan and, therefore, the best plan. Smaller companies will rely more on the other two. While all plans provide coverage, direct reimbursement provides the best and most wide-spread. Of course, because of this, it takes a company with a solid financial ground, Employers lose money with it. Your smaller businesses cannot afford to do that; they need every cent to pay the bills.

Do learn all you can about your company’s care plan, however. Never simply sign anything without understanding what it offers and entails. Learn all you can about benefits and stipulations.

Internet Chat Tips Staying Safe & Following The Rules Of Etiquette

The internet can be a great place to meet people, chat, network, swap knowledge, learn and a host of other things. But when interacting with people on the net, you should follow a few rules to keep yourself safe and keep from aggravating other people. Here are four general rules to get you started many forums also have specific rules you should read.

Rule #1 be careful with your contact info

When you’re on the internet, you generally want to keep a level of anonymity, because you don’t really know who you might be talking with or that might view your information. For example, you should be very, very careful about giving out your phone number or address to anyone you meet. Use email, IM, chat, blogs, etc, to communicate.

Rule #2 follow the rules.for promoting your product or service

If you have a product or service you want to promote, you should follow several rules for doing so. First of all, don’t post advertisements in forums, other people’s blogs, etc. Most forums do allow you to have a signature or profile with a link to your website. That is the polite way to promote. Also, it’s generally acceptable to post a link to your website in response to a post requesting a service or product like yours.

Rule #3 No adult material

You should not post links or otherwise distribute adult material in forums, chat groups, etc, for several reasons. First of all, it’s probably against the rules. Secondly, if you send it to a minor, it’s illegal and you could get in big troubles. Thirdly, it’s not appreciated! Don’t do it!

Rule #4 The golden rule

Just like in non-virtual life, the golden rule goes a long way. Be kind and considerate in your dealings with others, and always treat them how you like to be treated. Don’t bash people, be obnoxious, etc.

So…follow the rules, be kind, and have fun!

Credit – Over the Limit

Imagine you had a credit card was a $500 limit, and in the run-up to Christmas, you nearly maxed out your card. Before taking that last shopping trip of the season, you went online to check your balance and saw that you had $19 of available credit. “No matter,” you say to yourself, “I’ll pay the balance in full when I get my Christmas bonus from the office.” The only other charge you made was for a couple of mochachinos at the local coffee house, but two days later you were shocked to learn that you somehow went over your credit limit! Worse yet, your card company hit you with a $29 fee! The Mochachino That Broke the Camel’s Back

Bodybuilding And Overtraining

One of the biggest problems a newbie bodybuilder faces is determining how much to train. When they start a bodybuilding program, after having never exercised with weights before, the body generally responds relatively fast. The new bodybuilder can see gains in muscle size and a firming of the body within the first few weeks and this encourages them to train harder.

This is where the problems start to begin. After the initial burst of muscle development, the body will begin to plateau for a while, and increasing the training will only lead to a case of over training. Over training occurs when the muscles haven’t had sufficient time for recovery.

When the muscles are subject to weight training, the main process of development occurs during the recovery period when the muscle cells are rebuilt, to cope with the increased demands of the weight lifting. It is during this ‘rebuilding’ process that the muscles become bigger, and without sufficient recovery the muscles won’t have time to rebuild the cells.

This leads to the muscle getting over worked and growth is stunted. Without the correct knowledge, the newbie bodybuilder thinks that they need to train even harder to maintain the gains that they were seeing in the initial stages of their weight lifting program. Thus begins the downward spiral of more and more over training, and the resultant lack of muscle growth and fatigue.

With correct guidance the bodybuilder will be able to see when they are getting into a state of over training and allow themself a little more time to recover. This might involve having a few days rest from exercise, or more rest days between training sessions. Alternatively, the over trained bodybuilder might need to reduce the amount of weights lifted during a training session.

Reducing the intensity of the training will help to eliminate the possibility of injury and other health related problems as the body’s immune system is put under stress.

People who are just beginning bodybuilding for the first time need to be made aware of this process before they start training so they can plan their weight lifting program in such a manner that they will continue to see gains in muscle size and fitness and reduce the possibility of the plateau periods where they appear to be making little or no progress.

Hair Affair: A Story Of Loss And Revival

Our hair distinguishes us from other people by giving our head and entire body a whole new personality. It gives a sense of individuality and makes every person unique. Each of us needs to take care of our hair not only for aesthetic reason, but more importantly, to maintain our head’s protection from heat and rain. The hair basically lasts for two to six years, which is the normal cycle of hair growth. Each hair follicle grows approximately one centimeter per month, and almost all hair grows at the same time. The remaining hair which us usually about ten percent of our total hair, enters a resting phase which is a period of cessation of hair growth. After three months, the resting hair falls out and new hair starts to grow in its place. It is considered normal to see some hair after you shower, since shedding is a part of the hair cycle. However, some people may experience excessive hair loss, whether it be a woman, man, or child.

E-learning – Singing from the same hymn sheet

Copyright 2006 Anthony Fallon

E-learning gives you the opportunity to deliver and measure whether or not, you are achieving your goals. But the term E-learning has a certain internet geeky stigma attached to it. It sounds complicated and technical. But the truth of the matter is it’s neither. Take the E out of E-learning and everyone becomes more comfortable.

I was listening to an online SEO seminar the other day, during which, the host was explaining how if he had to tell one more newbie what page rank was he would consider putting a gun to his own head. Amusing as the remark was, you could easily identify with the frustration of him having to repeat the same old message. All educators and that includes business owners and managers have the same problem.

There are only so many things you have to do to acheive a succesful outcome in any business task. By documenting those tasks just once means that the procedure can be repeated to all members of staff over and over again. Ray Kroc took the procedures for the McDonald brothers restaurant and duplicated it globally so that every member of staff within the restaurant was aware of thier procedures and responsiblities no matter what their position or where they were in the world.

If Ray Kroc had access to the internet and E-learning when he was building the McDonalds empire he could have achieved his targets and educated the workforce more rapidly.

Now you may not have a global fast food restaraunt chain but the principles apply to all businesses. You may operate from a single unit or be geographically spread, either way its important for everyone concerned with the business to be fully aware of their duties and responsibilities and what the company is trying to achieve, It’s mission Statement.

The most efficient way to make that happen is to use an E-learning program. How many instances have there been in your business where things don’t go to plan because you assumed everybody knew what they were doing?

Singing from the same hymn sheet If only we could get everyone to sing from the same hymn sheet. A common cry across all organisations I have had the opportunity to work with over the years The following is a list of cries for help broken down into the problem (Pain) What needs to be done (vision) and how E-learning can help (the solution) Do any of these sound familiar?

The Pain: We provide professional advice to our clients – We dont know if the advice given is consistent with updates in legislation. The Vision: I need to make sure our staffs gives reliable information to our clients. The Solution: Using E-learning will test the knowledge of your staff on critical information updates

The Pain: My only form of education is to hope they read the manuals. The Vision: If I had a system where I could offer different training courses and achievement levels and with a testing method I would know that they are comprehending what is required for their job. The Solution: E-learning will track each learner based on modules
which module they are on
Length of time per module
Test score per module
Number of retakes
Benchmark your employees
Measure your employees
Improve your employees

The Pain: My customers and site visitors keep asking the same questions The Vision: If I could set up an online training, testing and certifying system for customers thus helping them get the answers they need without the burden on our time The Solution: E-learning will benefit all companies wanting to educate customers it will also be seen an added value to the business relationship .

The one thing you need to know about E-learning is this – It’s not about technology. It’s about communicating your idea’s and procedures and getting it into the heads of the recipients, after all, it is they who will put it into action.

There are many ready made E-learning programs available, some better than others. The benefit of ready made E-learning solutions is that you can be educating your staff within weeks But if you must have a bespoke E-learning program made and you need it up and running soon then try and keep it away from your IT department. Leave the pyrotechnics for another day.

Use video and audio where you can – People using E-learning learn better using a combination of tools. There aren’t many people that can master something just by reading it.

Time Out You, as the business owner or manager will know what is it that you want to communicate to your staff. Of course solving all these problems does take time and you will need to take time out from all that selling to achieve your goals but remember with E-learning you should only have to do it once. Say it once, loud and clear and then test them on their understanding of your message.

Having Fun With Trampolines

A trampoline is essentially a gymnastic and recreational equipment made of a steel frame with a piece of taut, strong fabric stretched over it using coiled springs as anchors. The attached fabric or strong canvas sheet is used for tumbling. Innovative trampolines are made of dense net, stretched elastically on a frame of varied shapes. Durable materials like tarpaulin are often used as an alternative to nets.

Trampoline inherited its name from the Spanish “trampoln” meaning a diving board. Trampolines were first used by the Eskimos who used to toss one another up into the air on walrus skins. The first modern trampoline was built by Larry Griswold and George Nissen in 1934. They later established the Griswold-Nissen Trampoline and Tumbling Company in 1942 and began making trampolines commercially in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.

The United States Navy Flight School used trampolines in its training of pilots and navigators during World War II by allowing pilots to practice their orientation. Trampolines were also used in the space flight programme to help train astronauts in experiencing various body positions in flight.

Since the year 2000 trampolining was introduced to the Olympic Games as a competitive gymnastic sports. In competitive trampolining the user is allowed to bounce as high as ten metres.

Trampolines are of two types, recreational and competitive. Recreational trampolines are generally circular, octagonal or rectangular shaped, and the materials used such as the springs and the bed fabric are not as sturdy as that of competitive trampolines. On the other hand, competitive trampolines are made of stronger and less-elastic fabric, with the trampoline’s elasticity provided only by the springs. The frames of competitive trampolines are made of steel that can be folded up for easy transportation to competition venues.

Some of the popular and essential trampoline accessories include covers, safety nets, ladders, anchors, tents, trampoline bounce boards, trampoline enclosure locks and spring tools. Trampoline weather covers protect the frame pads, material and stitching on the mat of the trampoline against UV rays. Trampoline accessories such as nets, also known as trampoline enclosures, are constructed with zinc tubes and a tough polyethylene net to add extra safety to the trampoline. With the growing popularity of trampolining, more and more trampoline accessories are available at reasonable prices.

Trampolines can be used for entertainment. They are also used for diverse activities such as physical education, competitive gymnastics, diving training etc. In recent times, trampolining has become a popular sport among children, as they never seem to lose their enthusiasm for trampolining.

Write An Article About Almost Anything

Are you a new writer struggling to get ideas for the articles you need to write? If so, you are not alone. It takes time and practice for any writer, no matter how good or how well trained, to learn to come up with good article ideas quickly. So do not be discouraged. Instead, learn from the advice of other writers. I can give advice about article writing because it is what I do.

My first bit of advice is simple: write about what you love. Any time I come to a stand still about things to write about I go back to the things I am passionate about. I may not be able to write a very convincing article about why all children should watch professional wrestling (because I don’t believe it is true) but I may be able to write an amazing article about the importance of families eating dinner together at the end of a long day (because I believe it is true and important). Article writing must come from things that matter to you. Reflect upon the things you value and let those give you ideas for writing.

Another simple piece of advice I’ll give about writing articles is to read. That’s right: read. Every single good writer I know is a consistent reader. Why? Because we can learn from reading the work of other writers. It is one of the most valuable things any writer can do. Reading keeps us involved in language and even fuels new ideas for article writing. So when you’re stuck just pick up a magazine and read an article or two. Don’t be afraid of copying. The more you read the less chance you have of copying something you’ve read.

It is important to think about your audience before you begin writing an article of any kind. It is always wise as a writer to try to write articles that will somehow connect with your audience and affect their lives. Just as you want to write about things that matter to you, so you should write about things that matter to them. No one will read articles that they could care less about. So look for ways to learn what people care about most. Do surveys or talk to your friends that read articles. Readers are the best source for writers.

Article writing can be fun and exciting. Just take your time, relax, and enjoy it. You will never last long at something you hate.

Learning Paper Tricks

Performing magic tricks has always been one of the most popular past times enjoyed by a lot of people from all walks of life. There are various kinds of magic tricks. One of many kinds of the usual scene-stealing tricks is a paper trick. There could be innumerable ways to deliver a paper trick. Here are a few of those paper tricks that can be easily learned by a new magic aficionado:

1. A paper-tearing trick is a clever method of tearing and bringing back the form of a sheet of paper. You can do this trick mostly on tissue papers. This could be a little different compared to other paper tricks.

You will hand out two kinds of tissue papers; it can be color white or black. You will tear both the papers and fold them into tiny squares. When he opens the paper, the two are still there, but surprisingly it is formed into a large white square and in the center, there is a black square.

You wonder why there are no torn traces on the paper. The have an idea on the trick, the restored paper is already formed by sticking a black square on each side of the large white paper. On a particular side, the black part is paste all three edges and one edge is left open.

The paper formed is then folded into a tiny square, and the outside have an opening. It is then laid on the table for about 5 seconds. You will get the restored form and place it behind his back.

The paper is divided into four pieces of squares, and the whole is bundle is again shown in the front, the tricky part on this is that you will make a little wave in his hands, making the two torn pieces together, and then slowly opening the restored torn paper. This takes a narrow chance to poke the torn pieces into the secret pocket. Ending the trick with showing both hands and they will find nothing.

2. Another trick is called the generous offer. You will need a piece of paper and hand it out to a person. Ask him to tear it into quarters. It must be torn equally, you will then get the papers and give him back a quarter of it. He then thinks that the task is easy enough, and then he may ask for a prize for doing it.

You will then applaud him and give his prize of another quarter of the paper. From there you gave the person one of the four pieces of the paper, which was supposed to be a quarter also of the sheet of paper. You can use a different way to approach this trick in using slang expressions of offering or donate two bits. In this approach two pieces of paper is given to him, as it presents the two bits you said.

3. The next trick you may learn is the look easy trick. Find a sheet of paper and tear it in two thirds. It is required not totally tear the end sections. It should be a little loose, and the outcome will be a slit parallel sheet of paper with three flaps.

Give it to the person and tell him to have a hold on the edge of the flaps and hide one in each hand. From the center of the paper, you will make him tear the end flaps. It seems to be a piece of cake, but it is not. When he tries to work on it, only one edge of the flap is torn. The pull is purposely even distributed.

4. The floating paper ball needs to be performed under proper situations because it requires a little experiment. You need to crumple one piece of paper into a ball and you will have to hold it using your left hand with your right hand on top of it. You will remove your left hand, and have the paper just floated in the air moving upward to your right hand.

The trick is done because of the black silk thread. The thread is placed over your right ear forming a loop in one of the ends. The other end is tied loosely to your black coat button. They do not have the idea that you squeezed it around on the loose end, before the paper ball is formed.

When you move your right hand upward, you will use your right thumb to catch the thread. You will then draw the thread tightly so that when you take off your hand, the ball automatically floats. Move your hand forward, then raise the ball. Bringing it back lowers it. On the last part, you will have to get the ball on your left hand and untying it from the thread. The right hand brushing your hair will lift the loop from your ear, and the thread just falls down on the floor, without one noticing it.

New Dracula Musical To Close, Except On Nights With Full Moon

Lestat, the new musical about vampires, if the mind can conceive of such an existent, having been sucked dry at the box office, is performing the most welcome service it has since its debut. Its closing.

The notice did provide, however, for the show to remain open on nights that feature a full moon.

Marking the debut of Warner Brothers in the theater venue, where it had hoped to further lower unrealistic hopes for intellectual excellence on the boards, while making as much moola as Disney, the fiasco came back to haunt the company as a $12-million guzzle of red ink.

With music and lyrics by the long-time-no-inspiration duo of Elton John and Bernie Taupin, who somehow could bring themselves to attempt yet one more musicalization of the haunts of those absurd creatures, we can now consider the show almost dead.

By the way, its when observing the persistent life of such absurdities that we remind ourselves only creatures with an evolutionary basis and an elaborate biological support system do in fact exist and that, consequently, all the monsters who haunted us in our childhood were actually no more than phantasms of the some Hollywood creep’s imagination, devised especially to haunt us out of the price of admission.

Common Procedures in Acid Reflux Surgery

Although acid reflux can be controlled through the means of medical treatments and appropriate diet, some people who suffer from severe forms of the condition may require acid reflux surgery. Acid reflux has a recidivating character and surgery is the best means of fully overcoming the condition. There are several medical procedures in acid reflux surgery and the most effective ones are Laparoscopic anti-reflux surgery, also known as Laparoscopic Nissen Fundoplication and Intraluminal Endoscopic surgery. These surgical procedures are both considered to be safe and patients usually recover quickly after the operation.

Acid reflux (gastro-esophageal reflux disease) is a physiological condition that usually occurs due to inappropriate activity of the lower esophageal sphincter (muscular valve that connects the esophagus to the stomach), allowing the content of the stomach to reflux into the esophagus and throat. In normal conditions, the esophageal lower sphincter should be able to prevent the regurgitation of the stomach acids into the esophagus.

The sphincter normally acts like a barrier between the stomach and the esophagus, sealing the walls of the esophagus in order to protect the organ from the digestive fluids produced by the stomach. However, due to abnormal pressure at the lower end of esophagus, weakness of the esophageal lower sphincter, abnormal positioning of the esophagus inside the body or inconstant muscular contractions of the sphincter, the digestive fluids produced by the stomach are allowed to enter into the esophagus and the throat. Acid reflux surgery can correct the actual causes of the condition, normalizing the activity of the lower esophageal sphincter and therefore preventing the access of gastric acids to the superior levels of the esophagus.

Acid reflux surgery involves simple medical procedures and it provides permanent results for people who are constantly affected by the condition. Acid reflux surgery is recommended for people with chronic forms of acid reflux, but it is also suitable for other patients with less serious forms of the condition.

The most common form of acid reflux surgery is fundoplication. This form of acid reflux surgery involves tightening the walls of the esophagus in the region adjacent to the stomach, thus increasing the pressure near the lower esophageal sphincter. By increasing the pressure at the union point between the esophagus and stomach, acid reflux surgery prevents the content of the stomach from being regurgitated upwards, inside the esophagus and the throat. One other method used in acid reflux surgery involves tightening the esophageal valve. By doing so, the valve will be able to efficiently seal the esophagus, preventing the reflux of gastric acid inside it.

Intraluminal endoscopic acid reflux surgery basically involves the same medical procedures, but performed through the means of an endoscope. This form of acid reflux surgery is very quick and its risks are minimal. The majority of patients recover rapidly after this form of acid reflux surgery and they usually dont require post-operatory treatment.

Thanks to medical advance and the multitude of modern treatments available these days, acid reflux surgery can be performed in a quick, safe and effective way.
